About us...

Lisa Ann Douglass is a Therapeutic Horticulture Activity Specialist specializing in Advanced Behavior and Cognitive Development. She is the founder and owner of Healing Seeds of Eden, LLC. She is currently working on becoming a registered Horticulture Therapist through the American Therapeutic Horticulture Association.  Her company is community-based, where she is establishing a collaborative garden in the city. She chose to locate her community garden at 5201 Cates in the Hodiamont track area. She is excited about sharing a space with the Sherman Park Academy Gardening Group where she wants to be a servant to the community by helping them learn more about gardening, nutrition and how to improve overall well-being. Her garden, Healing Seeds of Eden will provide fresh vegetables to the underserved community where food deserts exist.  She will also conduct Therapeutic Horticultural activities in groups and in one-on-one classes where participants will learn about plants and develop skills while gardening.

She is currently spearheading a pilot program with the YWCA Head Start program (Metro St. Louis) and Lift for Life Academy Elementary school located in the Soulard Market area. The pilot includes the establishment and re-beautification of their raised gardens. Both programs focus on hands on gardening and nature-based educational activities both indoors and outdoors.
